Gun people

It's probably something like a Browning 30 cal light machine gun or maybe a 7.62mm M60. I doubt they put 50 cals on those things, but I'm far from an expert.

I think that's an M60, but the boat itself looks like one of the newer 47-foot motor life boats. Those things are pretty sweet and are designed to be virtually unsinkable. They are self righting and self bailing.

They are usually used for S&R, so I'm surprised to see one with a weapon.

Yes they are rugged. I took some video too with my SD20. It didn't appear to be handling the conditions too well but then again at 92,000 tons we throw a pretty good bow wave and the seas were confused too. :Q

m60 not a m249 , you can see the longer barrel as a trademark of the m60. I actually dont think the coast guard uses the saw yet

What's the advantage of the M60 over a 50cal for this ship? Wouldn't a 50 tear up another vessel easier?

More ammo? Possibly a higher ROF as well..not sure on that one, though.
