I own a 1911 serial number 30,000 (made in 1913). It came from somewhere in the family... It's in incredible shape except the inside of the barrel isn't great and I don't really want to shoot it.

I've been looking for a 1911 that reminds me of the one I have, but I'm not sure what. I'd like something like an older 1911/1911a1. I much prefer blued over parkerized. I was thinking something like a Colt 1991 or O1970A1CS, or maybe something like a Cimarron? I don't want to spend more than $800-$900. For a while I was looking at newer Springfields and Remingtons, but they just don't remind me enough of the one I have.

Something like this?

I dunno. I realize that the Nighthawk VIP is almost double the price ($9000) versus the WC ($5000), but man that NH is nice.

I live in San Gabriel Valley. What do you like to shoot?

That’s a bit far from me. I’m in north county San Diego.

I have a number of guns but my favorites at the range are a model 629 S&W, a Sig Sauer P220 and a Winchester lever action rifle chambered in 44 magnum.

I’d love to shoot that Wilson.
