Gun experts....is this price a misprint?

No that is probably not a misprint. You would also need to get a class III Federal Firearms PErmit for automatic weapons so tack another $200 on to the price.

That's on the upper end of reasonable for a working GE Mini, but not unreasonably high, especially if it is in mint condition. You're probably not going to find any electric motorized rotating guns (Gatling) complete and working for less than $150,000.

It costs between $20 ~ $30 per second to fire this weapon on full auto with uber cheap ammo, provided it is either the 5.56mm or 7.62mm version. Count on $100 per second for 20mm, 27mm, 30mm, and .50cal versions.

There are less than one dozen GE Miniguns that were registered before the 1986 deadline and thus can still be transferred to civilians.

Machine guns have never been a poor man's hobby.

As tcsenter said, there are very few transferable miniguns in the registry, plus its a pretty desirable weapon that is already expensive compared to other weapons to begin with...

That price doesn't surprise me. The dealer I usually do business with just dropped 19 G's for a reproduction Gatlin Gun in 45-70. He's trying to find an authentic one for < 150 G's. He was telling me that there was under 1000 of them ever made. He did offer to sell me his M16 A1 a while back for $6500. If only I had money...

One of the Class 3 vendors at my gun club's machine gun shoot last month had one of these. They make a truly indescribeable sound when firing, it really is like a giant "raspberry". :Q

Dang thats a deal! I need to get my class III paper work done.

how hard is it to get class III licences?

Not really that hard as long as you have a clean record. Takes about six months. You have to do a transfer for each class III item you get. For example.I paid 1 Class III transfer for my MP5 full auto, and another for the supressor for it. $400 on top of the $1000 for the gun and the ~700 or so for the custome suppressor.
