GUMBALL 3000!

im into cars in a big way, may only be 18 and goin to uni this year but im savin up the 4 grand or so needed to participate, course ill need a flash car too!

as far as motoring events go i dont think u can get any better........close to 200 super cars driving through normal cities.....and the best part....very few celebs and racin drivers....thats what makes this unique, its jus your average mr no name with a bit too much money and flash car....and some of these guys are absolutely insane....and i am proud to say that that madest come from my own country! britain!

arthur and ehab of the 2003 movie released this year are totally mad.......arthur spent $500, 000 on the koenigsegg cc, and the this nameless british guy in a porsche GT3 tuned to the roof with a union jack on the roof........180mph plus on your american interstates on the way to florida....with some car enthusiasts tryin to chase him...fantastic

anyone here share the same interest, has been to see the start, or actually been on the gumball?

Foriegners have the advantage of having thier driving records in thier home countries having the possibilty of not being absolutely raped.

There's a video out there called "Michief 3000" that shows some footage of one. There's a trailer available for DL that has some nice clips.

First off there's no way you'll participate in that anytime soon. The people that you see on the mischeff movies are worth millions and they do stuff like that for sh!t and giggles. If you need to "save up" for an even like that, you might as well give it up. You get caught speeding twice and you're BROKE.

(this is analogous to "saving up" for a ferrari - if you have to do that, you cant afford it)

Either way though, i wouldn't wanna participate in an even like that unless I have the money. I mean if you have to watch your cash (drive slow... gas is expensive), then it defies the point really.

Exactly.

If you watch the vids, you'll see that these guys (and gals) are like, "Fvck it if I wreck it! I got ten more at home." And they often do mess up their cars...

mischeif 3000 is the same thing as gumball 3000. Both are equally insane and i enjoy watching the crazy sh1t that happens on the DVD.

as others said its going to take a while before you enter that, but when/if you ever do let us know who to watch for.

A little too expensive. Personally I'm more interested in doing the AKA Rally, a more affordable, slightly more legal alternative. I was set to go but my navigator went to Japan and I couldn't get my act together so I ended up doing my usual annual endurance rally (PA to UT, 2200 miles, 42hours) instead.

Sorry to break it to you but theres a good chance you will never earn enough money to participate in gumball like you wish.

Another alternative is the Pony Express 100 and the Silver State Classic. Both feature approximately 100 miles of time trial on Nevada highway. The classes are based on speed that you should average, except for the unlimited. You cannot do the unlimited the first year. Hotrod did an article on a Charger that was setup vintage NASCAR style for the unlimited class, couldn't do it the first year, so entered the 160MPH class. They had video of the car passing a mile marker every 20 seconds.

but its ok to dream right?...........will be studying automotive engineering come october, so maybe with a few years a whole lot of luck and if its still running it jus might happen......

what u guys on about buyin a car?.......people were in a rented mercedes an stuff sometimes, ryan dunn and demitri used a rented cadillac whether for comedeic value i dont no....u dont actually have to own it tho it would be nice, and i spotted in this years rally.....a golf mark 4, a modded mark 4 ford escort (european version), and the 500hp repsol escort cossie replica which got trashed

2002 rally, 4 ladies in a mini cooper s.....thats a car that my dad would buy if my mum would let him, 16,000 aint bad for 170 odd bhp

so yeah u need more money than u can count to enter, but its only 5000 its 10k based on 2ppl so 2 ppl = 5k each, u need money for speeding fines, but then again u are not meant to speed, u need money for fuel....lots if u drive a hummer or viper 🙂

the guy with the koenigsegg is jus stupidly rich ....... he bought a brnad new volkswagen in the really just for the radtiator cap!!!!! a flippin radiator cap...to go on his koeningsegg
