Gum all over shoes - Help!

What's the best way to get gum off of my dress shoes. It's all over one shoe. I was thinking about freezing it. Any other suggestions?

Doesn't WD-40 take gum off as well? I don't know if that would be good for your dress shoes though.

Cant ya just peel it off with a screwdriver or somethin? If I had that problem i'd just let my dog have her way with it , all the gum would be gone in like 5 mins

Tried to use the screwdriver/razor method. Didn't work to well. To stringy. I'm going to try the freezer thing tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it works.
