guitarport question

The guitar port has a wah effect built into it, but it's just a knob in the software that you have to use your mouse to turn. That is totally worthless, even if I am just practicing alone. I can't just reach over with one hand while I'm playing to use the effect. Is there any way to really make use of this thing (DIY footswitch, some 3rd party addon maybe?) or do I just need to buy a separate wah pedal?

Isn't it an autowah? I'm pretty sure it does the pedal pumping for you when you play.

Otherwise, a Crybaby is like $70.

Hmmm maybe it has an autowah, I'll have to check on that. The one I was referring to is just a big round knob that you have to turn with the mouse for it to work.

I think that turns up the sensitivity. Low would make it sound jazzy, high would sound like porn music 🙂

OK, I was messing around with it some more and that knob is definitely not an autowah. I did a search in the help and it said something to the effect of needing a MIDI pedal, whatever that is.

Could someone who owns one of these things please confirm whether or not there is an autowah, and if so, exactly how do I go about using it.

thanks

I have one, but I'm in the middle of a move so it's all packed up 🙁
