Guitarists...

Dont you just love the sound you get on brand new strings? 🙂

It gives you that calming "Ahhhhhhhh............" feeling.

I like old strings actually.

Haven't changed them on my bass for like two years, my favorite strings ever!

Same with my guitars. I only have them restrung when I have work done on them which is quite rare.

Actually, I prefer the sound of broken in strings, on my acoustic at least. New strings sound so harsh and cold.

Yeah... I REALLY need to put some brand new Elixirs on my Taylor... sound sooooo nice when they're new. And they feel best when new too. Polyweb coating... mmm.

The DRs I use on my Tele are the exact opposite though... they feel best when they've been played a while.

I just get a really nice sound on my bass with new ones. Broken in sounds great as well. Just that change from broken in to new, and hearing that different sound is refreshing.
