Just got one of these today after reading about how a people are starting to take notice of the Yardbox distortion pedal. It's sound is nearly identical to that of the Supra Tonebenders that gave guitars in the 60's and 70's their distinct sound (Jimmy Page uses only a Tonebender and a Crybaby Wah on the first two Led Zeppelin albums). These things are hand made and really sound thick and heavy. Can't wait for my gig this weekend :D It's pricey, but it's like a distortion pedal and compressor all in one:

one of the old bands from that era said the used a razor blade to slice their speakers for distortion. can't remember who, but saw it on one of those "behind the music" style documentary.

A buddy of mine years ago did that...thought he was nuts! Turns out he knew what he was doing. It made a really raspy distortion sound...better for bass than guitar. Probably different on different amps.

Anyway, I was showing off the pedal to a couple of friends and they're getting one now. The sounds you can get outta this thing are really amazing (btw- that sound clip sux. It sounds like they tured everything to max and play a riff :/)
