When I play the A and D string there is a buzzing sound inside. I've pressed the strings as hard as i can with my thumb and the same thing happens. Is tere something wrong with the strings? or tuning. or guitar. other strings do not exhibit this issue.

You'll need to adjust the truss rod in the neck to fix the buzzing most likely. There are lots of things that can cause it but that is the most common in my experience.

If you've never done this before, take it to a professional and ask him to explain it while he does it so you can learn about it.

Probably a fret higher up on the finger board is hitting it. I have a telecaster with a similar issue on very high frets.

It could be one of two things.

A. One fret is too high and needs filed down.
B. Neck is slightly curved, this can be corrected by a shop by decreasing tension in the neck.

I checked the fret, they arn't interfereing.

can anyone explain the trus rod to me?

Check the nut too.. it's up where your string goes off your fretboart into the tuning pegs, usually white or black strip right at the start of the first fret. Look horizontally at it, do the strings appear to go through this straight or do they angle down into it? They will angle down after it so make sure you're looking at the exact spot where the strings go through.

The truss rod is inside the neck of your guitar, up after the nut there is usually a truss rod cover or indentation on the headstock. A wrench, usually provided by the guitar manuf. will adjust the bend of the neck. I seriously recommend not doing this yourself if you don't know what you're doing, you can make it a lot worse.

It probably won't be expensive at all to have this done..

Find a luthier. Buy a set of strings that you prefer. Take the guitar and the new strings to the luthier for a setup. It usually costs between 40 and 60 bucks.

Take it to the shop, they can set it up for around $30. If you adjust the truss rod, don't adjust it more than 1/8 of a turn either way, otherwise you are probably doing too much.

Going rate for a setup is $50. If you have a Tune-O-Matic bridge, you should be able to raise the action a bit with the thumb screws on either side of the bridge.

If you have a "Fender" style bridge, there should be small hex screws that you use to raise the action on each string.

NEVER file down your frets (unless you just installed new ones and they're not set right). If you're getting buzzing, either the action is too low or the truss rod needs adjustment. Truss adjustments are tricky.

In a nutshell, I'd save the cash to get a pro setup.

Around here, a pro setup costs $30-35. I agree with Fritzo. If you don't know what you are doing, you're just going to make it worse.

The buzzing sound you are hearing is your strings buzzing against a fret. You need to raise your bridge or adjust your truss rod, preferably by a seasoned guitar tech.
