Guitar Players: Give Cort Guitars A Look

Ok, first off, I know that Cort guitars are normally synonymous with Korean made crap, but I just bought a Matt 'Guitar' Murphy MGM-1 guitar off eGay and am extremely impressed with it for the price. The body is made out of agathis which is equivalent to plywood and/or dogshit, but it is really a solid guitar. It comes with a tune-o-matic bridge, a set maple neck, binding around the body/neck/head, and a quilted maple top. The one I bought had the original pickups replaced with an EMG60 neck and a EMG81 bridge. Give them a look if you are looking for an inexpensive guitar.

how much you pay for that, out of curiosity?

It was $330. The EMG's are probably worth around $60/used a pop, so you figure it out. It sounds frigging awesome and has ultra low fret action.

That's the ugliest finish I've ever seen on a guitar.

lol. Looks strikingly similar to that of Carlos Santana. Guess he's got bad taste too. 😕

You haven't seen an ugly finish until you've seen the finish on my Warmoth. 😀

$330 is a pretty good price if you like the guitar a lot... my dad picked up a used gibson sg in perfect condition for $400

the guy had a DUI so he needed $$$ fast. we pretty much lucked out 🙂
