Guitar players: Do you ever play Hendrix?

Not really. I use some of his chord arrangements here and there but there are enough pro level people who steal from Jimi to go around. (no disrespect and I don't mean covers)

edit: ps you're pretty cute 😉

Did I see that right, your guitar is reverse strung? Albert King played like that, but he's the only one I know. Nice slippers :^D

Yeah, I do. It doesn't really matter to me, I'm two-handed. I play guitar lefthanded, strung left- or righthanded, write right handed, but pretty much use my left hand for everything else.

As for me, I've got a Strat reverse strung (rightie), that makes a lot more sense to me. Thinking about stringing my acoustic lefthanded though, for fingerpicking..

That's pretty cool. You don't need any adjustment period switching sides or stringing methods?

Nah, I try to play every guitar I see and I play a lot. 🙂

EDIT: No, I only play with my left hand, but the stringing method is irrelevant.

I can't stop staring at your slippers

Oh, and I steal Jimi's E7 chord all the time 🙂

So that's a leftie strat with a rightie neck?

this question. some kind of custom job?

heh, i was staring at the upside down headstock with the right side up pickguard for a while scratching my head.

nice playing.

It's a nitrocellulose laquered hard maple neck, I think it's Warmoth.. It came with a Fender Decal without a serial number.. I was building a golden strat with a tiger pickguard and a lefty rosewood neck, but I kinda gave up on it because of school..

Thanks for the comments.. 🙂

I can't play Hendrix though I've tried. Never sounds the same but probably because I don't play a Strat and don't like using my thumb for the bass notes.

you have small hands?

Nope, pretty big hands. I can physically do it, but I don't really like doing it. I was initially taught by a jazz teacher who drilled it in my head that it's a faux pas to use your thumb, ever. My second teacher was rock who told me it was not only ok, but necessary on some song but by then the damage was done.

Yehhh ..... After an Hendrix experience it's often life altering and motivates those who long to play to pick up a guitar and run with it. If you long to play the guitar it is now easier than ever to be a self taught great.
