Guitar peoples

Stairway to heaven solo, black dog, purple haze, day tripper... idk. But definitely the stairway to heaven solo.

The black dog riff is pretty easy, although the stairway to heaven solo is moderately difficult. The day tripper stuff is just two different bars of guitar and then a chord progression. Purple haze is basically 4 different little guitar parts and then a final chord progression.

If you're trying to learn guitar, learn chords and scales first.

Blues scales are great fun and all, but they're just copouts. Yeah, a vast majority of songs feature guitar solos that do nothing but run the blues scale in a different way. This might sound cool, but when you really start to hear it and how much everybody uses it all the time, it gets really old.

Get serious and learn your major scales and mixolydian scales. That's where the real stuff is at.

Wow, thanks PANTS, welcome to the forums too.
I've been playing the major penatonic scale for a while up and down, didn' tknow about the blues minor pentatonic scale, but i'll include that in my wam-ups from now on......I've mostly just learned chords for the guitar and now i want to expand my skills.

I recommend metallica. Lots of cool stuff there, some more challenging than others. Blues minor is a staple here of course.

Go up and down the blues minor pentatonic scale. It's used in like 99% of all rock songs.

It's easy as hell too.

no kidding! that's good info to know

well, 99% of all old rock songs. very few modern bands will touch it because it sounds so stale. probably the only band that still uses it on a regular basis is pearl jam.
