Hi Guitar Players,
I have a Yamaha FG-400a... It's just a cheap, acoustic guitar my dad bought me as a kid (sentimental value). However, it has no electronics whatsoever and I'd like to get something in there so I can have amplified sound. I'm not a billionaire and so I can't afford the top of the line--I'd rather just buy a new Taylor Guitar 514CE (but again, I got no dough).
So the option is to find something that is relatively cheap, but produces fairly decent sound. Can you guys give suggestions for things I can do? I kinda wanted to avoid pick ups that fit over the sound hole, but if it comes to it, I'd consider that too. Anything... I've been hearing about humming and buzzing from these types of pick ups. What are some of the good brand names for pickups? And what are the other types of pickups that are available?
So far I know of Fishman, Seymour Duncan products... anything else?
