Guitar in front LCD. Noise?

Do LCDs emliminate the buzz and noise you get from CRT monitors? Getting sick of playing in front of the PC with all the noise, but I like using recording software on it.

Also, is a Guitar Port subscription worth it? Do they have a decent catalog of lessons? I wish they just sold the software. I hate to pay $99 for that cheapo box when I already have an Mbox.

Logically they should, as I don't think they have a flyback transformer (plus no electron guns). Not 100% sure though,

I still get some hum in front of my LCD, but not nearly as much as with CRTs. I usually stick with Lace Sensors or humbuckers to minimize this.

Never tried the GuitarPort, but heard good things about it.

Yeah, you should be able to get a notch filter and cut out the center frequency that the LCD is putting off (assuming it's a sinusoid and not spread across the spectrum -- I don't know that much about actually filtering buzz from amps)
