I am a beginner, just got my guitar not too long ago. I've been practicing several songs, but i really want to play this song, for some reason i can't seem to get the chords right, it just won't sound like what i imagine it would be.

link to tab

anyone got any tips for me?
I would really really REALLY helpful if someone could play this song and record it (video or audio) and send it to me. (just the beginning chords)

Can we find the chords somewhere?? It may be transposed (in a different key) for the recording, or even "pitch adjusted" during mastering..... That is why TABS sometimes are misleading.....

Yeah, i find that most tabs are very hard to follow, you have to know the song fairly well and know where the changes are, since there isn't much indication of time and such......just keep practicing...

Try this version.. Looks a little easier.

9/10 when it does not sound right you need a capo or alternative tuning. Does not seem to be the case here.

All you people having problems with tabs either don't know how to read tab or aren't getting good tabs.

Of course you have to know the song well.

hmm... okay, i have a question about tabs now.

according to this tab version of the song herethe first chord (_320x_) do i play the first e string and the last e string? since the 'x' on the a string saids not to play it. am i suppose to only play 3 strings during the strum?

'x' generally means it's a dead string. Mute it with your finger so it does not ring if it's between strings you are playing. If it's the top or bottom string in the chord don't play it.

For example:

Open A major chord:

e---0---
b---2---
g---2---
d---2---
a---0---
e--------

A 'octives' power chord:

e--------
b--------
g--------
d---7---
a---x---
e---5---

blank is don't play. '0' is play as open.

'x' means to mute the string...just like dwell was saying. muting is when you touch the string, but don't press down.
