This one's personal.... this is the finale of about 3 months worth of ebay/craigslist scammers, horribly packed and thus damaged boxes, people not calling me back, etc.

But finally, got my hands on a custom MarkIV head.. and it fvcking slays.

Mark

Fender (literally) cleans, brutal high gain heavy metal, the 'boogie lead' and everything in between... I'm in heaven.

I'm an addict 😱

OK....you have to tools, now push some ZZ Top through it and lets see how it sounds!

So, how do you neighbors like it?

They don't care, I have 4 amps capable of 100 watts, 85 watts, 50 watts and 30 watts class A respectively.. they haven't said anything until now but then again this is all in the basement.
Class A amps - something I can understand and give you a thumbs up for 😛

🙁 Now you're better than me.

I have the AD30HTC. I didn't care for the Rockerverb. Orange trying to go metal/hard rock just doesn't quite cut it IMO. The Mark IV is vastly superior for that sound. The discontinued vintage Oranges were too expensive, IMO.

Edit: And get that scooped mid-range setting off your equalizer you pansy 😛

I also own a Mark IV (had if for almost 10 years). The Mark IV has literally tons of mids, even with the EQ scooped. Congrats on the new toy, get ready to start tweaking.

I also own an Orange Rockerverb and I love the metal / stoner rock sound that it gets. The Sword has a great Orange metal sound. IMO of course. I just played a AD30HTC the other day. Quite a lovely amp, but I think I still prefer my Rockerverb.

I also played a Bad Cat Hot Cat. That thing blew me away, it's an amazing amp...with an amazing $3,000 price tag! :Q

Yeah BadCat's are great.. I dig the tonecat...pricey though.

Yeah I'm a knob fiddler..so I dig the Mark IV a lot already, and you're right about the mids.. though I have a much tighter V dialed in now.. still gets middy (mostly my pickups).
Where do you typically dial yours in? I've been going with triode/class A/tweed/harmonics at a lower volume. I love cascading gain stages 🙂

I just purchased a Behringer Digital 120W Vampire for 170 shipping included. I wanted to get a Voss, but I didn't want to spend too much money. Plus with the effects on the Behringer and the point of using it for home use only, I think it should fit my needs nicely.

Otherwise, I don't know too much about AMPs other than Line 6, Digitech, and Voss are really good brands.

Shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send a few pics with settings I use.
