I don't normally post that much, but here's one I think all guitar/bass players might like....

Buy 2 X-Series stomp boxes, and get a 3rd free.

Here's the link to the PDF [Linky]

Went down to my local Guitar Center and copped the "Metal Master" & "Compression/Sustainer" for the wicked Heavy Metal stuff.... Gonna get a 3rd, but haven't decided yet.

All you gotta do is send in the UPC labels, a copy of the receipt, and a Money Order for $9.95 (No personal checks, bummer).

I didn't see this posted anywhere, so I hope this isn't a repost....

[EDIT] Forgot to mention that it expres 7/31/2003

This is a pretty decent deal... the pedals are pretty much the same housings as the boss' so they are practically indestructible... I just wish it was more of a direct buy 2 get 1 free than the mail in stuff... oh well..

cool neuro4848, thanks for posting. I was looking to buy 1 more pedal, don't need a 3 really but I'm sure I'll think of something.
I'll probably go into with a friend and split the costs into 3rds. It will be like getting 3 pedals for 33% off :)

I have an OG Dod Comp/Sus pedal. I not actually convinced it does anything. I just figured it was a orange metal case with knobs that make it look pretty.

How the hell do you make it "do" something?

Simple...
Just jack it in as such...

TUNER OUT [Knobs]
AMP <---> OUT [Digitech Comp/Sus pedal] <---> Guitar
[Foot Pedal]

As to what it does....

If you combine it with an overdrive stomp box, you can set them both together....
The Overdrive box, will of course, add the overdrive effects to make it sounds like a rocking guitar.
The Comp/Sus box will 'sustain' the sounds or 'compress' the peak signals....

Sustain - if you play lead, it will sustain/hold out as much as it can for those high notes.... a la hair bands....
Compress - well, it pretty much will compress high peak sounds you don't want....

By itself it doesn't DO much.... you gotta add another effects pedal, like Overdrive/Distortion and the such...

Hope this helps...
