Tubes are better! The reason is they give a warm sound. I'd always get a tube amp over a solidstate amp

What kind of amp are you looking for? Do you just want something for your room to practice on? Do you want something that you can lug to someones house and play for a small group of people? Do you want something that can blow the eardrums out of somebody 100 yards away in an indoor stadium?
It's hard to qualify sound. Tubes and solid state have distinct sounds and it all depends on what sound you are personaly going for. Tubes are going to have a warmer sound, but they are not really know for incredible power output.
Go to a local music shop, bring your guitar, ask if you can try out some amps and see what you like.

it really depends on what you want to do with it. Do you play a blues style? If not, a bues amp may not be the right one for you. Also, I never buy any musical instruments without actually TRYING it first. Sure it looks like a good deal, but it could be a POS in reality. So i'm going to recommend (as I do in just about every guitar thread) to go into a music store with your guitar, plug it into a amp you want to buy and try it out. If you like it, you can always go online and buy it for a cheaper price.

Narrow it down to a few amps by doing research on the net, try them out, and buy your favorite one.

How often do you play? What type of sound do you want? Also, it sells for $369.99 right now and MusiciansFriend and they have free shipping on orders of $199. Shipping an amp can be expensive b/c of the weight. That being said I don't know much about that particular amp but would love an all tube amp. (I currently have a 65W Marshall with a tube pre-amp but a solid state power amp).
