Yes and no.. it all depends on the music you're going for. They're not a very toneful guitar because of the lack of body and they all mostly use active pickups (EMG's) which sound very sterile for anything but brutal heavy metal in my opinion. You'll get a lot of people conflicted on this issue but the cleans are horribly sterile in my opinion. They do the 'EMG sound' very well, in that no other pickup will give you that focused metal grind with huge harmonic sustain, but as I said, that's it.

They're decently made and play ok but they just have no soul to me, it's like an electronic keyboard versus a Steinway grand piano..

A friend in high school had a Hohner copy, and it was a decent guitar. Takes a little getting used to, though.

I hear that replacing the EMG's with Seymour Duncan's give it a whole new range of capabilities.

I played with them about 15 years ago after everyone went through the Geddy Lee thing. They're kind of a gimmicky guitar- there's not much tone, and the one I used tended to go out of tune a lot. I've heard reports that the neck is subject to warping because of truss rod problems, but they may have corrected that.

I'd say pass, unless you're looking for their coolness factor.
