Is Guild Wars any good?

The one nice thing about Guild Wars that I found (I did try it during one of the betas) is that they won't be charging a monthly fee to play the game. All you do is buy the game. Of course there are many people here who destest the idea of paying monthly to play a online game, but gladly pay for Xbox Live (and yes I know there is an argument that those are not the same concept per se). Some don't want to pay for the game itself but will pay for the monthly fees. Some don't want to shell out a damn penny for either the game or the monthly fees, they want a free ride/lunch all the way.

Whether or not the idea of no monthly fees for this kind of game catches on or even works is yet to be seen. Would be interesting if it does.

Guild Wars is pretty tight

Have a couple friends playing in Alpha, bunch of us have preordered it and play thier free beta weekends, which this coming up weekend happens to eb one, grab it, but don't expect a true MMORPG, it is more PVP team based, and also make for the casual gamer as well, think of an FPS mixed with a MMORPG, fast paced, team based, and fun fun

A lot of people will probably play Guild Wars as a sideline game, when they get a daily/weekly burnout of AC2, EQ2, WoW, etc. As a WoW player that is what I might do.

that's what I plan on doing, playing like i play counterstrike... instead of hey, I feel like some FPS, it'll be hey I feel like some PVP

How come its so cheap, at EB this game is $50?

"Full game for Lineage II include in this but; Full game for Guild Wars is not included. Order this bundle and if you decide to purchase the Guild Wars, you can call our call center toll-free at 877-OUTPOST and have $9.99 credited toward purchase of the full game. That's easy. It's mainly the price. XBox Live way cheaper than your typically MMORPG at $15+/month. That's more than twice what XBL would cost over a year.
