how do you counter rush the healer in this game? what is the sence in better armor/shield for a warrior when the mob is trying to eat the healer? Some of you guys are higher level, can you shed some light on the clueless? i feel like a general fighting useing the tactaks of the last war, but theres a fundamental difference here.
please forgive the spelling and share your thoughts.
thanks

No, I had made smart-ass comment, but the edit pretty much negated the funny.

Anyway, I don't know much about Guild Wars but if you're talking taunt as in WoW warriors, you don't need taunt to hold aggro in WoW. Taunt is more of an OS (Oh poop) skill for when a situation goes very bad. If you were relying on taunt regularly for aggro you either had poor support or an incomplete understanding of how to hold aggro with a warrior (not surprising, as they never really teach you how to hold aggro, and it's not very intuitive.

If guild wars works similarly there will be aggro generating skills to compensate, it's just a matter of finding them. For the WoW warrior, sunder is nice, but I've found revenge is a real big hate generator too. There are probably some skills like this in guild wars, not necessarily big damage skills, that help generate aggro.

I assume you are talking about PvE and not PvP?

way to answer with a completely different game

yes PvE. And thanks but I am aware of how to play WOW, Guild wars is very different. And there are no hate or taunt skills that ive found yet. Everything seems focused on damage. I guess the answer is kill the mobs before they eat the healer. Its no wonder every one uses a healer henchman, thats a no fun job in this game.

It is very important that the warrior engages the mob first. Fights are fast in GW and most hits are dealt to whoever engages the mob. I play a monk/mesmer.

In guild wars there is no healer class or tank class.

The roles are more blended then that. My normal group is a ele/necro, war/monk, necro/mes, ranger/monk. Who's the healer? Its the war monk. He tanks and heals. The ranger keeps him alive if he has too. I just rain fire from the sky and get agro a lot, my solution is to heal myself with lifetap and aura (300% of my mana cost is refelcted back to my health). The PvE dynamic in this game is way different then in EQ or WoW. This is why most groups are failing hard. Once I got my friends to understand this we have not had a single wipeout yet. Sure we do a few battle res's. But i'm level 12 now and I only have 12 deaths.
