I never played guild wars 1, but this video made me sorta interested in gw2.

I'm a pvp lover, and since its the only MMO that looks like it will have awesome pvp that effects the world I will prob try it out.

Never understood why people bought a mmo for pve only (cough wow).

I can not wait for this game! Looks like they're trying things a bit differently in terms of classes. No Tanks, DPS, or Healers!? We'll see how that works!

Yah i like the pvp part of it, assuming it goes as planned it kinda has the Dark age of camelot concept, winning for each side helps the other in pve content.

I like the ability to dodge and move around in combat.

The reasons to not buy this game far outweigh the reasons to buy it.

Whenever i see your name in a post, its always something negative. Your name fits you.

Anyways, GW1 had a lot of potential, i felt very constricted when playing it. GW2 looks like it will add A LOT of freedom. Looking forward to it.

I agree the is the only major mmo in the works that seems to be attempting something different. The more I hear the more I like it, unlike TOR which is the exact opposite.

I still engoy GW1; they've done a very good job updating it and adding new things, particularly given there's no monthly fee.

Working my way through GW1 currently, and loving it. Looks like they have improved the game in every possible way for GW2.

I much prefer the free to play + expansions model that GW uses to the monthly fee. I will never buy a game that requires a monthly fee.

I just hope they don't go fucking crazy with instances. I HATE instances in MMOs. THey defeat the purpose of an MMO. I want to be able to run across other people as I work my way through the world.

Guild Wars wasn't exactly a regular MMO, though, was it? Yes, it used instances, but it also had NO subscription fees. I actually like how it encourages you to get a group of friends together to play it with you.

yep.

but from what I've read, the PvE parts in GW2, save particular dungeons and such, are non-instanced. Not totally sure how a feel about that--I would tend to leave my dude standing around in the middle of nowhere for hours while I was away.

I wouldn't want some dingleberry dropping up on me and ganking my +2 ogre-slaying knife while I was away. :(

Can't wait for GW2 to come out... and would love to get involved with the alpha / beta testing (maybe I can hope for the beta lol).

For now, I'm playing Rift. Honestly... I forgot to remove my sub after the first month and it continued for what I had previously put in (6 month at a time plan). I probably would have went month to month instead. I'm more or less interested in GW2 becase it truly seems different (maybe not better or worse) than the WoW type games out there. The problem with the WoW type games (IE: rift) are that, for me, while they seem to improve on a few major concepts, they fail at a plethora of others (when compared to WoW).

I spent a ton of hours into GW1. Hopefully this one is good as well. I'll wait for reviews though. People seem to forget that GW1 wasn't a traditional MMO, even the developers said it wasn't an MMO and I'm not expecting this one to be a traditional MMO either and I like it that way.

well, they have said that that it is almost completely persistent. between towns, anyway.

I think only dungeons (like in GW EotN) are supposed to be instanced. will definitely be a strange feeling in the GW world.

But...i don't know, I've been away from GW for nearly 2 years now without having logged in once. I really don't want to jump into another one of these. soooooooooo much time sent into the pooper over GW. I always said I would not be playing GW2; but it looks so damn good!

:(
