Not a player of the game, and unfortunately I just don't have time for MMOs anymore. Still, if you are even barely curious it might be worth it. Since there's no sub fee, I'm almost tempted to get it anyway.

$10 gets you the "Digital Heroic Edition" and $15 gets you the "Digital Deluxe Edition".

The DHE gets you:
Guild Wars 2 game
Suit of Legacy Armor*
Mithril Box*
10 Experience Boosters*

The DDE gets you:
Guild Wars 2 game
Suit of Legacy Armor*
Mithril Box*
10 Experience Boosters*
Summon Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill*
Miniature Rytlock*
Golem Banker*
Chalice of Glory*
Tome of Influence*

Appears to be cosmetic items/pets and some XP/leveling boosts.

As someone who plays the game, I can say that for 10/15 dollars its a steal. There is no monthly fee and plenty to do as far as newer MMOs go. Its also a fairly unique one as far as not being a "wow clone" if that's what your looking for.

Couldn't resist. I have no time, and an insane backlog, but I bought the $15 package last night. I played a little bit of GW1, and remember enjoying it.

As someone who has played the game (at release), I can say that any price is a waste of money.

Yep, it's different from WoW, because it's even *worse* than WoW.

Other MMOs have quests. Quests are little stories that give flavor to a game. And they encourage you to move through the new lands. GW2 decided it didn't need quests. Only 1 main-quest line. Now the the main-quest is not bad. But there's nothing else. The regular quests in other MMOs have been replaced by "automatic kill- and gather-quests". You enter an area, and suddenly on your screen is says: "kill 20 monsters". Or "gather 20 tea-leaves". How exciting. Just as tedious as normal quest, but in a sugar-coating that is even more bleh than ever seen before.

And don't get me started on dungeons. The pve-developers have no clue what they are doing. And when people (their customers) confronted them, their answer was: "our dungeons are just as terrible as they were in GW1. it's intentional that they are not fun. ain't it great !"

The artwork in GW2 is nice. Nice character and NPC modes. A beautiful world. That's it. The rest sucks.

If you would actually pay attention while doing them, you'd find that all of these little "heart-quests" will generally come together to either tell a story or to enrich that of your personal story. One quest doesn't usually give you a lot of information. The difference is that when you do a quest in WoW, for example, you literally read the story it's telling when you start and finish a quest. In GW2, you actually have to listen to what the people are saying, both the immediate quest givers and even those in the background. Basically quests in Guildwars actually make you think about what's happening. I understand that the system is not for everyone, sure, but just because you need quests force-fed to you doesn't mean everyone else does.
