Guide to hullucinate without drugs.....

As some of you may know..... okay just one person....

I was on vacation this past week......in the general area of Lake Tahoe.

However, I actually spend a few days at this event called "burning men" about couple hours of drive from Reno.

If you don't know what that is... I'm sure they have a web site about it on Google.

I end up not getting a lot of sleep due to the extreme temp. I think I only got total of 3 hours for that entire weekend.

The hullucination started on the last day. I was seeing things and hearing conversations.... Kind of like a bad acid trip ( I think....)

While a friend was driving us back, I saw 2 bodyless heads racing with our car... kinda creepy... and a regular black spot on the wall would look like a live bug crawling around to me.

I also lost 5 lbs that weekend... yuck...

Anyone ever been so tired that they started to see interesting things?

(I have some 'pictures' while I was there... too bad I don't have a site to post them at this time.... )

I stand corrected.

I've never been there or heard of that "festival" before. The friend that I went to visit suprised me by telling me about this camping trip we are suppose to go to when she picked me up from the airport.

I thought to myself. "It'd be neat to camp at Tahoe"

And then.... "hmmmm why are we driving away from the lake? and the mountain?"

And then.... "WTF, If the ticket is this expensive, this better be worth it."

And then.... "Oh, Juni, you got the tickets already? from what? what's this inter....net that you're talking about?"

And then... "Where are the showers and general store?"


I have mixed feelings about this trip..... I didn't run around naked like a lot of people did.....

Well, other than lack of sleep, extreme cold and heat, and shower that consists of dust and not water..... I did have some fun.

Oh yeah I remember this one night, we were hanging out with this guy and we went to this "party" where he tried to pick up this other girl who turn out to be a guy. Kinda funny, I think that was a trans-party. I was pretty sure that me and my friend were the only two girls there.

I am from Reno and have a few friends that always go there and they always tell me its a blast and like you said, lots of naked people. Tahoe is always nice though.

There was a guy who painted it like an elephant.... I thought he was in the pool, but there weren't any bodies of water around.

After reading some of the accounts of this year's Burn, I'm becoming far less enamored with the concept. Ironically, it seems that as with real-life Utopian and socialistic societies, the potential for minorities to exploit the situation never seems to go untapped given enough time to do so.
Additionally, it seems that concepts of bureaucracy have begun weaving their way into the framework of BRC.

What was once an innovative experiment in spontaneous gatherings and performance art has steadily degraded as it's become trendier and trendier....

Actually, I didn't experiment much except rapid weight loss....

There were people dropping E like they were candies.... Also saw some "California grade" mushrooms. I didnt' try any.....wasn't feeling brave enough in a new place like that.

I'm going to try to go next year, Jzero is just a little too cynical for someone who has no 1st hand experience. A friend of mine spent the whole week there with a big group I will probabaly join next year. They were spinning records and had made some of the funky vehicles to go interact out on the playa with their music. They also had a big bar setup and had brought a bunch of cushions and a couple couches.

Now, I still don't know why that guy can't tell that fake chick is Dixie Normas.

Jzero is just a little too cynical for someone who has no 1st hand experience.

Could be, but when I first heard of it a few years ago, few people had heard of it...it was sort of an elite club of people who were tough enough or crazy enough to do it.

The past 2-3 years, everyone and their uncle either went, or claims to be planning on going, and most of the people I hear say things like "Yeah dude! Everybody is handing out all these cool drugs and running around naked and having sex in the desert...."

Even the accounts that I read from people have changed over the past few years.

The ideals you read about in the history of the event are being diluted year after year. Count the days until it's sponsored by MTV or Clear Channel Entertainment
