I'd like to hear some thoughts on the 'scratch and dent' ones. . .

I keep seeing real good prices there - but the description of them on the site is kind of scary.

I'm pretty sure memory should be a higher priority than hard drive space. The smallest hard drive still in production is 80GB for a desktop---and even that's plenty for a light/older user.
