Guide to Basic vs Advanced settings in Nvidia Drivers?

Hello,

I almost have my PC stable w/ my SLi configuration. I went into Control Panel -> Display -> and then looked all the options for my 7800GT and I saw there is a Basic option that gives me just 4 choices and an advanced setting that gives me a bunch of choices to enable and stuff. Where can I find more details on what I should set these too? I most interested in one setting that asks when SLI is enabled, do i want Single GPU rendering (why?) Multi GPU rendering or a 3rd option... I mostly play FFXI and i'd like to know how to set everything to the max..
