What do you mean by "use" for penny stocks? If you mean which broker, it's Royal Bank Action Direct in Canada. Commissions are generally higher for penny stocks (because you pay commission on the number of shares at that level) but that's only if you have enough money to break the minimum threshold which is, for them, I believe $29. I don't have nearly enough money to break that minimum threshold.

I know the definition of penny stocks is generally anything from $0 to $5, but most of the time I'm dealing with stuff that is under $1.00. It's a very risky game, yes, and not appropriate for most people, in my opinion.

Damn Nasdaq is down again.

i remember I bought a penny stock in which 1 penny can buy about 3 shares (.0035) I bought 500000 shares cost $1500 bux.
after I bought it a few weeks later it went down to like .0011 or something.
couple of weeks more, it went back up the the price that I bought it at. I sold it and just lost on commission.
One WEEK later...damn thing went to .20 cents.
I am still kicking myself as of this day. Thats $100,000 right there. :(

<< Over the summer I liked wireless companies such as ericy, mot, nok >>

One of the stocks that I invested in the summer, and am currently losing money on, is MOT. Having said that, you can see why I'm not too much of a fan of the wireless sector right now.

The other stock I invested in was a company that dealt with SANs - Storage Area Networks - and is actually outperforming MOT despite having been in the middle of a Nasdaq delisting inquiry at the beginning of the year. It also missed earnings by a cent but didn't get massacred, while MOT did.

I purchased Mot before 2nd quarter earnings and sold a few days after earnings. I did similar with ericy. What I didnt mention is you needed to have been an active trader in those stocks, or any right now to make money. I didnt hold those for long I think thats why I did very well over the summer.
As I mentioned earlier I have been out of the loop for about a month or two and have mostly focused on the F.O. and Semi's, but have noticed the decline in the wireless group, but I did favor them in the early summer months. Then again almost all stocks have been clobbered so dont think of it as too bad. The quality techs should come back when the market does.

Im bummed about my JDSU prediction for this morning. Both SDLI and JDSU made a small run up early morning but nothing great.
