hello everyone.. i got these parts fro my new system and i would like to overclock it....i have read a few forums and it seems that 3.2ghz is the ideal clock....
my specs is as it shows in my signature....

i know that the ram is a limiting factor...so if someone could please tell me what settings i should use through ntune or through the bios....
i had a diff mobo before but it was easier to oc...wit this one im not familiar....
thank you for ur support....

I am not famiiar with that board but, put the ram timings lower then start upping the fsb and running Orthos, or a similiar stress testing program until you can find a decent OC for your CPU.

Can you up the fsb with NTune or does it lock up when you do that? I was using Gigabyte Easytune to up the fsb and test. Once I found a stable overclock I used those settings in BIOS. Along the way of course I had to adjust the voltages somewhat.

I am not sure of the quirks of that board so hopefully someone that has it can chime in.

You have to set your RAM and FSB options as unlinked.

Disable all spectrum related settings as well as C1E, thermal control and speedstep. Also disable Linkboost and GPU(xxx)

Set your CPU Voltage to 1.3V (or 1.35V if it doesn't work) and your RAM voltage to the advertised value (same with timings).

You will need to up the voltage on the cpu a little more if your PC doesn't boot.

DO NOT EXCEED 1.5V ON AIR

MONITOR TEMPERATUES BEFORE AND AFTER AND REPORT BACK

Set your FSB to 1332 and your ram to 666mhz

Now, if your RAM can overclock a little, you could try setting the FSB to 1400 and the RAM to 700mhz.

FSB Voltage should be 1.3, (you could also try AUTO)

Other settings leave as auto.

If it works, try lowering the CPU voltage until you have problems again!

ok...before doing any oc the temps are:35 to 37, around there..... i read a guide by ign http://pc.ign.com/articles/747/747606p3.html and set the voltages as follows...
CPU Core: 1.45V
CPU FSB: 1.5V
nForce SPP: 1.50V
...set fsb to 1600 and i got 3.2ghz....the temps where 46 and 43 with no load....with load(sp2004) the temps are from 51 to 55; this is with my Big typhoon fan only at 1500 rpm, it can go up to 3000....and i have another fan in the side lid of the case that sits just in front of the HSF and it blows air into it...
i think the timings on the ram are 5 5 5 15...let me know if i should change this...also i dont know where to change the ddr ratio to asyncronomous....
thanks...

ps: its been seven hours now and orthos came back to the 10K test....how much longer do i leave it running???
thx...temps are 51 and 53....fan is at 2100rpm

edit: ive reported back my results and got no answer, pls let me know, thx

Good that it is Orthos stable, and 7 hours is enough, however, try to lower your CPU FSB Voltage to 1.3 or 1.4 and also lower the CPU voltage to 1.35 or so.

You might be able to get the system orthos stable while using lower voltages, if it fails, well, you know the settings that worked before....
