I had to go on Facebook, which I loathe, because several female friends post there almost exclusively.

Found this, a quick 10 question test that then guesses your middle name.. It actually guessed mine, which had to have come from other sources.

I hate my middle name; I've always wanted to change it. I've actually always wanted to change all of my names because they all suck.

Nope, it said my middle name is Henry, its not even close to Henry.

Actually, this test appears to be phishing for personal info.

Matthew? Not even close...no one will ever be able to guess my middle name since it's so atypical...it's actually my Mom's Maiden name.

They could certainly use that set of questions to flesh out their data profiles of Facebook users. If that's what they're doing it's effing brilliant.

It said my middle name is Jack... which it isn't.

My middle name actually comes from the bible.

I was thinking that it was the Harry Potter generation reaching child bearing age.

Got mine wrong, said it was Anthony, not even close. Not a single person in my extended family has ever been named Anthony. I don't even have any friends named Anthony, lol.

Edit: Just tried the quiz again from a different computer, but answered all the questions the same. The result is now Alexander. Again, not even close, and never has been used in my family.

As far as phishing info, the only question that seemed "personal" was whether I am Male or Female. Also, if I am in a relationship. Neither of these questions are too revealing.

Every time this comes up it boggles my mind. It wouldn't even occur to me to name my kid after a person or character in any kind of media. I might end up coming up with a name that happens to be some character or other, but it wouldn't be intentional. Kinda hard to avoid it given the amount of stuff out there really.

I bet it's a data gathering survey that just spits out a random name at the end to make the survey "fun" and those random few who it hit on, spread the word to everyone they know.

Not even close, and I don't have a facebook account for them to link to the data they gathered.

I suppose I win.
