If you missed out on this deal, get in on it next time. I paid full price for mine, and I'm still not sorry. If you own one, you'll know why the cooling is important.

I've got two of them. The 2nd one, just received, has a bad power adaptor which LaCrosse is shipping me (this is somewhat of a known problem with them as the adaptors seem to be on the weak side). One of the best (if not the best) chargers that I've seen and used.

After getting it, I now know why some of my other chargers and batteries have had such bad performance.

Shoot, maybe I should put a fan on the adapter! I just checked it, and it only seems a little warm, but it does have vents on it.

It's taken my new 2500mAh batteries up to at least 2340mAh, which is probably as much as can be expected.

I just bought 24 of the Tenergy 2300 mAH batteries (hot deal thread at FW). I've charged, discharged and charged 16 of them and the lowest came in at 2260 mAh. Most come in around 2320 and one came in at 2560 mAh. Not bad for less than $1 per battery...shipped (using coupon)! :)

Edit: I've not had as good of luck with the Powerizer battereies, however, I purhcased them long before I received the LaCrosse charger and I think that my previous charger (was a brute force, no shutoff type charger) may have damaged them)

Schweet.

I need some new rechargables. My Powerex 2200mAh finally died after 4 years.

Another possibility is Duracel 2500 mAh batteries from CVS pharmacy (if you have them near). They were on clearance for $3.75 a pack of 4 out the door plus tax last week. Not sure if there are any left though! ;)

By the way, there's no current FREE SHIPPING on the Tenergy batteries! :(
