Guess what I sat on today? Dreams do come true.... story inside.

I had the pleasure of sitting on an Aeron chair today. Yes, it was really the stuff legends are made of. Mesh for the back, mesh for the seat and adjustments upto the wazoo!!

I totally felt like a dotcomer, sitting on my Aeron chair, in uptown Seattle. I thought about my condominum with a built in Jacuzzi and covered parking for my newly acquired BMW 3 series. I pretended that my cup of Folgers was latte. I took a sip from it, and imagined I was talking to some client in New York, another dotcom CEO, who wanted me to come over to their grand opening party.

Then I dreamed that I was at this totally swanky party, full of other dotcomers. Oh, how much fun we were having, talking about the stock marker, our IPOs, and the rising value of my San Diego rental property. Then suddenly, I saw myself getting a pink slip. It was all over, the dotcom bubble had burst, and I lost everything.

So who else fantasizes about being a dotcomer?

*cough* crazy *cough*

most people lost everything gained in that period, very poor property management if you ask me.
if only if i graduated 2 years earlier, i could've caught the tail of it.
i'll be rich since i'm not the type that spend a lot, hack, i don't really spend on anything.
something like that is going to come around again in the future.

Hey, here's a dream for you. Work for the government. That way you don't have to worry about going broke because you spent all your money on Aerons, Palm Pilots, and Plasma screens, because you can't! You're the government and you own the bank! That's my experience, anyway...

Boss: "Hey! We have $20,000 left over in X Account that we have to use, or we'll lose it for next year...What should we do?"
Worker: "I need a new chair..."
Boss: "Sounds good to me! Aerons for everybody!"

Yes, I am trying hard to get a job at a govt institution. Sure they have layoffs too, but you can usually see that coming.

And about that money thing, I had a library job where 7 other students worked. The job could have easily been done by 1 person, but the boss didn't want to give up the funding!

You have entirely too much time on your hands.

I've interned there over the summer for the past few summers, and it was pretty sweet. I plan on working for them after I graduate.
