The build went smoothly, although I have to say I really don't like the integrated I/O panels (and those teeny-tiny M.2 screws kind of suck for older eyes as well). My DDR 3200 RAM kit booted at 2400 MHz, so I had to set it to 3200 Mhz in the BIOS, and that was the end of any "issues".

I've now officially moved to the AMD camp. AMD 4-EVER!!!! and down with the Intel empire! ;):p

Seriously though, this is the first AMD CPU I've had in my desktop in since forever (maybe around 2005 or so). So far, so good.

Very nice! 50th Anniv. Edition 2700X. You do it up large! (Would be interesting to find out if those are higher-binned than the regular ones. I only have a 2700 non-X, so I can't really compare OCs. Mine went to 4.0Ghz on 240mm AIO WC.)

I only got it because it was cheaper than the standard 2700X at the time (bundle deal at Newegg).

I personally find paying more for a "limited edition" CPU like the 2700X Anniversary or the i7-8086k not to be a good decision.

Oh, and I forgot about the bonus that came in my Newegg box. Now you don't have to be hungry when building a PC! :p

I never thought I would get a protein bar and coupon with a PC component purchase when I first started ordering from Newegg back in 2001.

LOL. I got one of those too in one of my recent orders. Too bad that they don't just send me a case of Bawl's on the house, or something. (I've never tried it, but it was big back in 2000s.)

Edit: For a short period, maybe 1-2 years ago, they were sending $10 off $100 purchase coupons. I had like 3-4 of them. I used a few of them. I normally just sort of trash the paraphernalia that they send (Harrys, Fresh (something)), etc.
