Guess this camera! (and comment on quality)

Took these pics at full zoom out and then full zoom in, I was amazed, I had this with me all this time but never used it...

So what do you guys think? is it good?

Tough call, but based on patterns in the sensor noise and the degree of chromatic aberration, I'd guess it was a Canon Optura 50.

Canon Optura 50 at 46mm, f/4, with a 1/60 sec shutter speed?

😉

But as far as the image quality goes, those pictures aren't really anything special. There is a ton of noise and lots of purple fringing...a lot worse than what you would get from the cheapest $100 point and shoot cameras these days.

I would actually venture to say that my iPhone 3GS's built-in 3 megapixel camera isn't much worse.
Edit:

Here's a sample from an iPhone 3GS just for kicks:

yes! the arches are up! and its a good 3 months old maybe more progress now.

I was just amazed at the zoom capability and image stabilizer, I just took the pictures casually while walking by... i never though a 1MP video camera can do that, but then again I never had anything better to compare with, my other camera was a SD200. I will upgrade soon, waiting for SX210 to come out on Best Buy shelves so that I can get a look and feel.
