Cheney, of course.

I'd vote for Bush/McCain, but that would never happen.

Guiliani would just make a crappy canidate; once the 9/11 shine wears off in the campaign trail, all you have left is him cheating on his wife and his nazi-like rule of NYC.

Guiliani. It'll give Bush a couple more opportunities to mention New York and 9-11 to the point where fear becomes their political platform

McCain would have to be completely nuts to join Bush.

as much as the GOP would love to drop Cheney, they wont do it, Kerry would have a field day with the change, it would raise more questions than it would answer

actually I think its the best way to make the buildup of scandals nonissues. If someone else were to take the VP position, any leftist attack on the administration's shady past would be met with a "Thats it! I'm not voting for Cheney! :p" line

Edit: Oh you mean Powell for VP? Its too late for that. Its pretty much common knowledge hes GW's b!tch (and muzzled)

There's no way VP Cheney will be replaced, unless he flatly resigns (which he seems to have no interest in doing), citing health reasons. President Bush is nothing if not loyal, and he will stand by VP Cheney all the way IMO.

It does strike me that a Bush/McCain ticket, in particular, would tend to improve the President's chances in the election, so long as VP Cheney stepped down for some neutral reason unrelated to differences in opinion with the White House (such as his health).

John Kerry improves the President's chances in the election. Hell, I'm voting for John Kerry...

....right before I vote against him.

Way to wedge in anti-Kerry sentiments in a context that has nothing to do with Sen Kerry. :cookie: for your sincere efforts at trolling.

wow, you are so far out their that you support crime, and fight to defend it by insinuating a man is equal to someone who committed genocide.

amazing, simply amazing.

actually he's doing his appointed job the way his boss demands, if that's something you view as being negative then you've got a lot to learn about work ethic.

Hell, I'm voting for John Kerry...

lol.. hey, i could have done that :) i'm a voter-registration-card-stamped democrat :-D

If GWB were tossing Cheney, he would have done it before the convention.
isn't the real question "will Chaney replace bush with someone else"?

man you people are ignorant.

Btw am I the only conservative in the room that won?t be voting for Chaney in the primaries when he runs to replace bush in 08?

It's Cheney, not Chaney.

I can't seriously imagine VP Cheney running for office in 2008, whether or not President Bush is re-elected. He's now 63, and has suffered 4 heart attacks and numerous heart surgeries, including a quadruple bypass when he was still in his 40s. He had his first heart attack when he was 37.

Even regardless of his health, he's never really been what you'd call a beloved public figure, and I can think of several Republicans who would likely beat him soundly in the primaries.

The sense I get (and it's complete conjecture) is that the RNC has more or less promised McCain their support for a 2008 run, in exchange for his support in President Bush's re-election campaign. I think most men, similarly situated, would harbor significant bad blood toward the President, because of his campaign's nastiness toward McCain in 2000, and it seems to me that he's likely gotten some concessions in exchange for his assistance this year.

I went to see Sen Kerry speak over the weekend, and someone had made up bumper stickers reading:

"Bush/Cheney - Four More Months!!!"

I'm not against him doing his job but I'm against him ignoring work ethic when his boss tells him too.

In case you forgot, it was yes-men and groupthinks that allowed 9-11 to play out.

the right in America isn't behind McCain, no mater who the RNC is behind they can't take on the EIB's golden mic.

Replace Cheney? That's insane. He has a lesbian daughter and differs with W on a few key issues. That's undecided voter GOLD.

Do you have a source for that? That's a fascinating little quote if he actually said it.

I definitely do have the sense Powell is not a happy camper, as witnessed by the fact he announced 2 years ago he wouldn't serve a second term, and is not participating in the RNC in any way.
