You are correct - They are (were) new EJ257 STI Castings - they have now been heavily worked over.

I must've been looking at different heads when I said that. Anyway, less angle on the intake valves and we'd be perfect.

Which angle are you referring too? The concavity of the valves? For any particular reason? I will admit that this is the first set of heads that I have had built, but I really didnt spare any expense on them.
