Ok i dont have much to go on apart from a bad childhood memory. This could be a horror movie, im pretty sure it is but i dont know it frightened the hell out of me anyway. It reminds me a little bit of hocus pocus, but its nothing like that, no PG13ness here.
So anyway what i remember is an old house, either on a street or not too far from a street, in a small town like the one in the goonies, with trees and stuff. Someone sneaks into the house and starts to go up the stairs, but theres this really creepy looking lady at the top of the stairs, the guy gets scared and runs away, i think he is dared to go back in again later or goes back in again for some other reason and falls down the stairs this time. He wakes up and is surrounded by candles with the creepy witch lady looking after him, i dont know if she kills him or helps him or anything, i dont remember anything after that point. The part that was really scary was when she came down the stairs the first time, that really creeped me out since i was so young.
PS - Ive gotten a couple of disturbing childhood "movies" mixed up with outer limits episodes before so if this sounds like one... it could be. Although im sure it was a movie, i could be wrong.
