UnInstall all the above and ReBoot.

You will notice that Windows UpDate request that you run UpDate (As it says NEVER been Run) There is NO UpDate History; however, your Installed UpDates are there.

Run Windows Update and HIDE all the UpDates I've listed plus any UpDates you personally don't want. It will continue to update until you have Hidden all the UpDates in one session and Windows UpDate will report your OS is up to date.

ReBoot and run a Registry BackUp "ERUNT".

You will note as of Mid July 2015 when Win10 preparation UpDates were introduced that you still have the Win7 UpDate Notification Icon in Sys-Tray and no BUG to UpDate to WinX.

Watch out for any MS UpDate that specifies "Telemetry" in Win7.

PS: I run Win7 Ultimate 64-Bit SP1 EFI.

I doubt that this should be on the list.

KB2902907 & KB3063822 (Microsoft Security Essentials)

Many people depends on Security Essentials as Gate Keeper against Malware/AV.

Well I would sooner depend on McFee Stinger and Malwarebytes - It's up to to you if you don't mind MS Telemetry invading your privacy.

Actually I will run UpDated Versions of MS Malicious Tool [64] and Windows Defender [64] MANUALLY at times.

We're getting off topic.

Here's another Hint: If you're battling Artemis suggest your Artemis files are attributed as "Read Only" including your HOST file.

I'm about to banned again - LOL

Too much work, and will probably just get worse. Time to get yourself a plan B.

I just disabled updates altogether, honestly I don't use my windows machine for anything but gaming so chances are I'll be fine. That and if you don't have the machine facing the internet and don't use IE the odds are pretty slim of getting anything malicious. I run malwarebytes and superantispyware once in a while just in case. Interestingly the Gigabyte driver CD for my motherboard comes bundled with spyware, so it's worth running anti spyware tools right away even after a clean install because I wonder how common this is now.

To uninstall any update:
Start -run - elevated CMD command
Then paste this verbiage changing the KB number. Example:
wusa /uninstall /kb:3068708 /norestart

What is nice about this method is the system will report if the update is installed or not, instead of spending lots of time looking for it.

I agree with you but you still have to look at the Installed MS UpDate list as to whether they EXIST!

And if they are not all gone - Your Win7 MS UpDate probe could very well be busted and not respond the way you expect it to do when checking for UpDates on Win7.

I got control of Win7 - It will take me sometime before I boot WinX and forsaking DX12 considering there are too many API alternatives out there.

Getting Off Topic - Hic!

Yeah I finally took this approach. 5 pc's in the house and I just gave up. I'm not an IT admin and the wave that MS is throwing at 7 and 8 is intimidating.

How many threads on the same subject are we going to have?

Hehe wait until Win7 EOL arrives, you probably get all those Win7 users bitching about it and more threads ;) .

Time to move forward IMHO and not look back.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GWX]
"DisableGWX"=dword:00000001

Start > search for 'change customer experience improvement program settings'
Opt out

Isn't this easier and just as thorough?
