Guaranteed Celerons?

Does anyone know of a site that sells guaranteed celeron II 566 for a reasonable price? The places I've seen sell them for like 40-50 bucks more expensive than a normal store. I know they're in demand..but come on! If anyone knows a place, I'd much appreciate it! Oh yeah, and if you happen to know of a store that sells them in southern California, that would help too...=)

The difference you are seeing is partially due to the fact that those who sell them have to pay shipping to get them, then spend time (time is money), as well as assume the risk of the ones that don't work out. In this world nobody in their right mind works free-gratus. Anyone who knows anything about running a business knows that's the way it's gotta be. Anything less and such people wouldn't be in business. After getting over the intial hurdles, then finally if one is lucky, they get to make a profit. :Q Testing equipment, packing materials, labels and freight all add up. Did I mention taxes too? Warranty liability? Hehe 🙂
Mine are, however, less than what is posted below. 😉

Have you checked out Step Thermodynamics?

Look at their Internet Specials for the Celeron II at 850Mhz for $194 with a cooling unit. You have to purchase one of their cooling devices to purchase guaranteed CPUs "at their cost". If you buy a cooling unit, you can also buy memory, and a couple of Asus and Abit mobos and video cards "at their cost" as well. The guarantee extends not only to the speed at which the CPU will run, they also give you a lifetime warranty on the CPU. I have purchased from them now 3 separate times with great results (but I have not tried the Celeron II yet.)

It's a gamble someone has to pay for. Either you if you hope to get there or the person doing the testing and discarding.
I got mine from compuwiz and paid extra over retail but have a stable chip that's been wrung out good and I can now run at 112mz.

Got my 566 from Compuwiz and would recommend him. H e ran into some problems with supply on my order and had to go to a more expensive board plus a slocket. The price remained firm and he wouldn't accept more money.

Nah, I don't have a site yet, just a domain reserved. Feel free to email me and I'll send you the info. 🙂

He is not guaranteeing them for 100MHz fsb, read carefully where his price really jumps once he does. Not much of a warranty either.
825 is not 100MHz fsb.
