GTXP and can't record stereo mix

Running Win2000 Pro and I can't record the stereo mix from my Hercules GTXP. I have the Record Source set to Stereo Mix in the Main tab of the GTXP but my recordings are silent unless I record the input from one of the soundcard's inputs. When I try to record the Stereo Mix, I get silence. Any suggestions appreciated.
 
The problem resolved when I uninstalled the GTXP drivers and reinstalled them. I have to think that when I installed the latest driver, 4.10, I failed to uninstall first. I think the lesson must be that it's a very good idea to uninstall a current driver before installing a new one. I can now record the stereo mix and am I glad! It's great.
