I just bought a GTX760 to mix into my 5yr old Phenom II x4 hopefully reinvigorate it a little before I send it up to that wonderful neon cyber graveyard in the sky :D.

So anyway I have a 650w PSU so I didn't think to upgrade that (Tuniq Potency) but when I plug the card in the computer doesn't get far passed the POST, it pcrashes just after recognizing everything. So I plug my old 260 oc in and everything is just fine!

I first thought it was a psu problem but apparantly my 260 oc is just as power hungry as the 760 so is it the card itself? Should I just dispute this claim with Amazon, am I wasting my time here?? ....

What do you mean dispute this claim? Do you already have an RMA claim through Amazon?

It sounds like a faulty card, but I have had a similar issue with my HIS 270. It would not POST in my p67 motherboard, regardless of which PCI-e slot I put it in. However, when I popped it into my z87, it worked just fine. It was definitely not a power issue since a 270 is less than 150W TDP and I had a 7970, 7870, 7850, 5870 mining in the same rig without any problems (no more than 2 cards at a time). PC would not POST with 270 as the only card...

I recommend you either try it on another PC or just exchange it.

Thanks I'll try it in my other PCIe slots (I knew buying a tri-SLI mobo would come in handy some day! lol) before seeing what Amazon can do for me!

OH! and the mobo is DEFFINITELY updated to it's latest bios. This 140w Phenom II is the last cpu it will EVER see.... unfortunately (THANKS Asus :/), they've stopped updating it long ago. The theory of buying a 300 dollar mobo to get assurance of future compatibility just went out the window.
