GTX560Ti SLI Review

I was wondering how well this card would do in SLI. Seems to do quite well.

Why don't I see more questions or recommendations for this card on this forum? Is the price/performance not worth it over the 460? (460 ~$150 after rebates-if they ever come)

The 560Ti is $229 out the door at newegg.

In about half the benchmarks it's barely beating and sometimes being beaten by 6870 crossfire. Not exactly what you want to see when dual 560's cost about $100 more.

That perhaps answers my other question. If the 560 isnt a good deal then maybe the nvidia 570 will drop in price due to downward pressure in two days when the new NVIDIA high end card comes out.

The 5 series SLI also tests faster now with newer drivers, that was a launch review.

Prices usually drop during Summer months, if inventories start filling up. There will
be a transition time eventually when they start producing 28nm, but thats a ways off.

That 560 is 220 AR, not 210.

The cheapest 6870 after rebate is 180. That's a price difference of $80.

If you checked the newegg link its states check price in cart 239.99 with a 30 dollar rebate thats 210.00.

So your original 100 is down to 80, but its actually only 40 dollars.

edit : Update, a little birdie told me there is a typo on the 'cheapest' 6870 and the XFX model is 189.99 not 179.99. That makes it only 10 dollars difference per card or 20 dollars total.

Holy cow, I did not notice that the Galaxy card was $240-$30 MIR=$210

That is a great price for this card.

I pay tax at Tiger Direct/CompUSA so newegg is where I go most of the time.

I loath MIR though, why can't they just give it to me for $210 out the door? :\

Did the "express" version for a MIR where they charge you two dollars for a antec PSU $30 rebate, been two months and I still dont have it.

I hate MIR also. I always buy the card I want, I factor in the lowest prices without MIR. Occasionally the model I want is the one with biggest mir, but not often.

460 SLI is about as fast as a 580.
560 SLI seems to be around ~30% or more than a 580.


lets say:
1x 580 costs 499$ ~ 100% of 580 performance.
2x 460 costs 320$ ~ 100% of 580 performance.
2x 560 costs 440$ ~ 130% of 580 performance.


The fact that 460 SLI for ~320$ can give same performance as a 580 that costs ~499$, makes it hard to recammend someone buy a 580, if they care about value.

*edit should be noted that the 6850 is abit faster than a 460 1gb, and sells also around the 150$.
2 of these in crossfire (amd version of SLI) beat a 580 in performance.. for around 300$.

It isn't always that simple. What if your motherboard doesn't support SLI (let's say a small form factor system)? What if your case doesn't have enough ventilation with a motherboard that doesn't give an extra slot between cards? What about power requirements? What about minimum FPS?

I would think a EVGA GTX 460 2win would be able to meet most of those needs.

^ I agree. I have 2 eVGA GTX 460 1GBs overclocked to 880/1760/4400 in SLI and they rock!
