Just put this card in, starts up no problem. Only will display up to 1280x1024 on the HDMI channel. I want 1900x1080. The drivers from the zotac website keep failing when I try to run it ( says 7zip failure). I am on Win 7 64 bit ultimate. Please help.

Did you try the drivers from nvidia.com? Also are you sure your display has a resolution that high?

Assuming you don't have some ancient single-link DVI cable (unlikely, and impossible if you used the same cable @ 1920x1080 previously), then yeah, go to Nvidia to get the latest drivers.

yes i have a 21.5 inch widescreen that I was using that res. on w an HD4890 previously. I installed the card in my old machine to make sure it wasn't DOA.

I went to nvidia and the same problem happens. When I dl the driver and try to install it, I get "7-zip:Data error" everytime I try to install the drivers.

Sounds like your rig is unstable, if you are getting decompression errors.

how? Just 30 mins ago it ran fine on my hd4890. I put the Zotac Cd in and downloaded the driver, but windows said it was not digitally signed, and it would not let me go on. I am going to restart and try agian...

Windows will warn about lack of digital sig, but you can choose to install anyway..

Gettin .zip error has nothing to do with the card ... You have a corrupt file..

Okay. Well there was sitll some error trying to install the drivers from the Cd. I will try again. I just restarted and it took for ever to get back to windows, I hit some blue screen of death thing that says there was a hardwarte or software error and windows was shutting down to avoid damage... but eventually I get to windows, it just takes a while. Is there an issue with the card itself?

Windows says the file is not digitally signed, and to go to manf. website for a digitally signed version, then the only choice I have is to close. Once I do, a pop up says "application corrupt". then it installs whatever the last working version of the driver was.

What input are you using on your widescreen? On mine, if I use the TV settings, I can only display 1080i. If I use the PC monitor settings, I can display its native resolution 1920 x 1200.

This isn't a TV, it's an LCd computer monitor, on input set to HDMI connected to the HDMI port from the gpu. Would it help if I tried DVI? Oh and actually I think the res I used before was 1900x1200, not x1080.

Also, my firefox and Ie keep shutting down often. This has never happened before, but I don't see how it is related to gpu.

I think the first choice here would be to go to the Nvidia site and download the latest drivers. My guess is that is the problem.

When I do that, I get the "7-zip:data error" everytime. Even if I do an earlier version. It's like all the files are corrupt.

Run stock clocks and run memtest a few times. If it passes try to install again at stock clocks.

Just read on Zotac forum, this may be due to the fact i was running AMD drivers under my HD4890, but I did not uninstall them. I suspect this is the issue. How do I uninstall those old drivers?

Edit: Uninstalled old ATI drivers. Installed drivers on CD. Did not allow me to choose 1900x1200. Went to nvidia again to dl the drivers, still getting a 7zip data error box. WTFFFF

Really?? FML. Why?

So it's not that the latest version of the nvidia driver online are corrupt?? It's my win7? Shit, now I probably won't be able to put the old card back in with out having some sort of issue.

I don't know if your sig is out of date, but how are you running Win7 RC? That was a timebombed eval version that expired over a year ago.

If you are running a cracked version, I highly suggest that you purchase a retail version.

Yeah that was that beta version I got in '09, I never updated it in my sig.

I just put my old card back in, and now it let's me go up to 1400x1050.

your system sounds messed up, switching cards without uninstalling drivers is always a bad idea. I would use driver sweeper to get rid of all the AMD drivers then re install the nvidia drivers. By this time though it may be to screwed up and a fresh install is probably the most pain free way to solve the problem.

Try Driversweeper and uninstall every check box, that may save you a reinstall

well, not really but when having tough problems a reinstall of the OS usually solves it (if it really is software based and not a hardware issue).

I doubt the nvidia driver downloads are corrupt or you would see 1000 posts on it.

True. I know it's not, it is a software thing. Is this driversweeper free?

I put the old hd4890 back in, uninstalled nvidia drivers, restarted and got ati ones back. After a restart I had my 1900x1200 back. So why does my computer not like the gtx460? I am worried now once I get all my parts for the new build it won't like it either. But nobody thinks it's the card right?

I'm wondering if your PSU is up to snuff. It seems curious that your system gets a 7zip decompression error when installing the NV drivers.

Can you try double-clicking the NV drivers again, with your ATI card installed? And see if they unzip properly (of course, do not finish installing them).
