GTX460 vs. GTX670

I have the GTX 460 1GiB (original) version. Roughly speaking, whats the difference in terms of performance?

Im still trying to decide whether to pick up at GTX 670 or just wait till BigKepler. The Application is CUDA Compute, e.g., my understanding is the 670 is barely faster than 570 which in return is barely faster than 460 GTX.

My application is however memory bound rather than core bound.

Since you are asking the performance difference in a specific CUDA application, without knowing what it is, we have no way of estimating since Kepler performs terribly in some computational benchmarks and does well in others (Folding @ Home). GTX570/580 should be much faster than GTX460 though, so not sure why you are saying that 570 is barely faster than a 460. If you overclock your 460, does this application run much faster? If yes, then 570/580 would smoke the 460.

1GB GTX 460 has 115GB/s memory bandwidth
GTX 570/GTX 560 Ti 448 cores has 152GB/s
GTX 580/670/680 has 192GB/s

GTX 480 is 177GB/s. Might be an interesting option as they were going for $200 new, so you should be able to pick up a used one for even less.
