GTX460 Artifacts

Hi All.

I have a Gigabyte GTX460 bought 2 years ago and sometimes it overheats and artifacts in game. Is this normal? Is this grounds for a RMA?

Thanks.

Clean it. Then put fan on 100 percent and game, if you dont see the artifacts, nothing is wrong with your card. gl

Negative to dust for sure. I am however running it in the open without case fan... would this be a factor? And I don't know how hot it gets temperature wise, but its definitely uncomfortable to touch.

What part are you touching? 50°C-60°C would be uncomfortable for me to touch, but it would be a fine temperature for a GPU. Download MSI Afterburner and enable the on-screen display to see what your temps are actually reaching in-game, that will give us an idea if it is actually heat related or not.

Was touching the exposed heat sink pipe. Problem only happens when its heated up. Will download this MSI program later. Thanks.
