...So you don't plan on defending your claim that GTX285 breaks the world record then?
It's not my claim.

That's a bummer, because now it appears that you posted this thread knowing that the thread title was nothing more than sensationalism that cannot be defended. Therefore, such a post is little more than trolling. -Admin DrPizza

Btw: overall, AMD had the second fastest card last round.
But 4th fastest GPU.

Eh, the 275 and 280 and 4890 are all too close to make a clear winner. They are all 2nd to the 285.

Topic title was: GTX285 Breaks 3DMark Vantage World Record

That's claming GTX285 breaks 3DMark Vantage World Record. Use quotation marks if you are quoting someone else. Anyone with 2 functioning brain cells could figure out that GTX285 doesn't beat neither HD5870 or HD5970, posting it as some sort of statement is... well, it's something you seem to do from time to time. Posting first - thinking after, that is. Or maybe just posting, no thinking before or after.

But 4th fastest GPU.

With a graphics card, I can actually do something, but I guess you are happy enough with a GPU to look at.

You forgot about the Asus dual gtx285 card.
And the dual gts 250?

So....
1. asus dual gtx285
2. gtx 295,
3 4870x2
4. dual gts 250/x2 4850
5. gtx 285,
6. gtx 280,
7. gtx275/4890
8. gts 260, 216sp
9. 4870 1gb
10. gtx 260 192sp
11. 4870 512mb
12. gts 250 1gb
13. 4850 1gb

Did I forget any cards?

Now if you want to play the "Depending on the benchmark" game. I can find cases where the GTX285 keeps up just fine with a 5870.

So someone else who wants to play the "depending on the benchmark" game is not playing fair but when you do it, it's perfectly fine. The forums are littered with many cases where the only way you could prove your views was through cherry picked results. It's hypocritical to use cherry picked results to prove your points for the last 5+ years and then complain if someone else does it.

the op is the most retarded fan boy in the world. It amazes me this is important. Will the op be buried with all of his nvidia cards that he used through out his miserable little life?

And another infraction -Admin DrPizza

as much as i like nvidia due to its ability to do physx... this thread title is a blatant lie and misrepresentation of current standing in gpu...

ati 5k series is beating nvidia at the moment, no question about it. :(

Actually the 5670 is faster then the 285 in DX11 mode games. so now it goes
5970
5870
5850
5770
5750
5670
285=4890
and so on...

huh ATi has the top 6 cards ATM.

Wreckage has been tormenting this forum for 5 years? Geez, there are sure many saints around here for just being still sane.

After reading this post I've just broken my world record for wondering:

'why on earth is Wreckage still in these forums' more times in 60secs than ever before...

When are you guys going to learn to ignore Wreckage's posts? Are they too entertaining for you to resist? If so, don't complain about it and risk getting yourself an infraction or worse. Jeez, how many times are you going to fall for this?
Here's hoping.
And lavaheadache, Wreckage isn't making Nvidia look bad. That you think Wreckage represents Nvidia in any way shape or form is pretty funny. I expressed a belief a short while ago that Wreckage very well may be a "reverse" viral marketer. Pretending to market/pimp/promote Nvidia, but doing it so terribly and obviously meant to cause unrest, then you're right. He does far more to hurt NV than help them in "that" respect.
Reverse. Psychological.
Please guys, don't fall for it and get yourselves canned.
Regards,
Keys.

If it's not your claim then why the fuck did you post it as your own? As your topic title too!

The title of this thread is from the title of the article. That's generally how articles are posted here. It's not my claim as it's not my article nor did I run the test.

I thought it was an interesting article and perfectly relevant to the video forum.

That's a rather impressive overclock they got on that 285 and an impressive score on Vantage.
