You'll only want a quadro if your going to be running stuff like cad and design programs. Since you have a GTX right now, I'm guessing your using it for gaming. The quadro would probably be beat by the GTX in games.

If they're asking for a quadro, they more than likey know what the quadro is.

And no I haven't heard of one yet, as I don't believe they've released quadro's based on the 7800 series yet.

It's called a Quadro 4500 and it is based on the 7800.

***CONFIRMED***

not likely. as in ever. the pro capabilities are locked through the solder pads underneath the chip, so the only way to enable them would be to remove the chip, add the proper solder pads (and figure out which ones to add) then replace the chip without doing any damage. that'd be mighty tricky.

only *possible* window would be if dell was using discarded quadro cores on their oem 7800gtx (ala 6800gto) and then a bios flash might do the trick. this looks unlikely, however, but technically hasn't been confirmed true or false.

anyone with a dell oem 7800 want to try?

other than that, the best *moddable* card is still the 6800 ultra.

In the past you could just bridge 2 places on the card and voila, you have a quadro.

That was the GF2>quadro DCC mod, no?
