I bought an EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked back in october. Is is this particular card: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-2982-KR

As you can see it has the following clocks: 1241 MHz Base Clock
1342 MHz Boost Clock

I'm now considering adding another card in SLI to better run games in 1440p, but the problem is that my current card is dicontinued. I'm unable to find it in any norwegian store.

So my question is what options I have when buying another 980. I've been looking at mainly reference coolers to dump the hot air outside the case, and I'm looking at the following MSI card: http://www.msi.com/product/vga/GTX-980-4GD5-OCV1.html

It is clocked at 1152 though - would that be an issue? Can I mix brands in SLI?

Also, I'm currently running my system on a Seasonic X-650W. I would guess I'd need to upgrade that as well, no?

Really i am going of the topic but my advice is that dont try SLI because many latest games have terrible performance with SLI or even CF.Multi GPU support was a disaster this year.

Clock speed doesn't matter and brands don't matter....They just need Identical GPU's I'm running an EVGA 780GTX and a EVGA 780GTX ftw ...they boost to different speeds and GPU usage even though I have them linked in precision. They're working like a champ.

I wouldn't say for sure....but I think you'd be just fine with that PSU

You're blowing that way out of proportion. There have been a couple of gripes, but I've not played a game yet where I preferred turning SLI off as opposed to having it on.

Same here.

OP you'll do fine with pairing any GTX980 with your current GTX980. Just a matter of preference, but it has to be a GTX980.
