Gtx 980 - performing only 5-6 fps more than Gtx 780

Hello. I have a question. My pc is Asus Strix 980 and cpu I7 4790K stock. But i think my pc is not performing enough in Crysis 3. Because i have only 5-6 fps more than somebody with Gtx 780 + 4790K stock . I tested the same place on game, using of course the same details ( 1920x1080, V.HIGH + MSAA 4x ).
I with Gtx 980 Strix + 4790 stock have only 5-6 fps more than somebody with Gtx 780 + 4790 stock. Also i am using the newest drivers.

What game? What percentage faster is this GPU than your 780? (Don't expect it to double or anything.) Was your 780 OCed? (Possibly at the factory?) Can you OC your 980?

Or maybe it's a CPU-limited game that doesn't use a lot of cores? In which case you could try turning off hyper-threading in the BIOS.

nVIDIA GTX 780 Gigabyte GHZ Edition


We both using the same details on game ( 1920 x1080 , V.HIGH , 4MSAA ). In places when he got 50 fps i have only 55 fps. Is this something wrong with my pc?

Nothing wrong. The 780 is a strong card, or was. As drivers improve your 980 will start to look better.

Is your card overclocked? How about the CPU, is itoverclocked? That can make a significant difference in some situations. These other videos are running highly overclocked GPUs. Their CPU is also overclocked. Note that they are running Very High. Not Ultra.

And they have weaker cpus than me. I have 4790K stock.
So why on Gtx 970 he have 60 fps with MSAA 8x when i on Asus Strix 980 have 30-40 fps?
My card is overclocked by factory with boost 1324mhz.

The GTX970 was run at 1500Mhz+

780GHZ Edition is closer to 780Ti performance, if not sightly faster. I suppose your GTX980 strix would be 10% faster than the 780GHZ.
