edit: Got it, okay performance after cold boot / reboot, then perf declines with time. Not that there is a difference between cold and warm boot.

Hi, so all has been OK until recently. But now on a reboot / cold boot of the pc gaming performance is great. After the machine has been on for a while the performance drops.

Could be your cpu HSF is full of dust and over time the heat builds up and it throttles.

Ah, now it's clear. Yeah check for malware. I don't think it's temp related if a reboot clears the issue for a while. Are we talking GPU performance, or also CPU performance drops?

Run MSI AB and see if GPU usage sky rockets after a while. Then something is stealing your GPU cycles. You can also check if it is clocking correctly during the "slow" run.
