GTX 960 Coil Whine?

Hi All - I couldn't see a thread on this, but is anyone able to offer some insight into whether these cards typically suffer from coil whine and what (if any) brand tend not to suffer?

Is coil whine more common in the GTX 970/980?

According to this or that manufacturer, it is not uncommon for these cards. I think the assessment suggested a reduction in any OC'd core speed, or a slight bump up in the voltage.

The Strix 970 seemed to have more complaints about the coil whine. For that reason, I broke with my own tradition (ASUS mobos and preference for ASUS gfx cards). I bought the MSI Gaming GTX 970. I don't have any coil whine.

How this plays out for the 960's, I can't say. Look at complaints in cus-reviews, I suppose.

Midrange cards in general don't seem to suffer from it as much.
